Spiritfarer Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase spotlighted a number of upcoming indie games coming to the Switch.

While some of you may prefer to watch the whole event – which is just over 23 minutes long – others may prefer a detailed overview. So to help you sort out everything that was announced, we’re bringing you a list of games, trailers, release dates, and other details.

We saw a mix of new game announcements (Torchlight III) and already-announced indie titles thrown in as well. So without further ado, let’s get to the indie games!

Hades

Hades is a roguelike dungeon crawler based on Greek mythology from Chucklefish and Supergiant Games. It’s currently available in Steam Early Access. The Nintendo Switch version launches this fall.

Hypnospace Outlaw

Hypnospace Outlaw is a simulation based on the early internet. It was previously released on PC. A demo of the Switch version is available now with the full release planned for August 27.

Spiritfarer

Out later today, Spiritfarer is described as a “cozy management game” about death. Players help the spirits of the dead make their way into the afterlife.

Garden Story

Coming in 2021, Garden Story is described as a “wholesome action-adventure game” from indie developer Picogram. “Unify a broken community as the newly-appointed Guardian of The Grove. Traverse a vibrant island to combat invasive Rot, inspire its inhabitants, and rebuild your home.”

Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero

The adventure game Subnautica was previously released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass gamers. The open-world survival action-adventure and its sequel are coming to Switch in early 2021. So you’ll be able to take your deep-sea adventuring on the go.

Takeshi & Hiroshi

Takeshi & Hiroshi is a stop motion-inspired RPG about the bond between two brothers and their love of video games. It’s out later today via the Nintendo eShop.

Raji: An Ancient Epic

The action-adventure game Raji: An Ancient Epic is set in ancient India and the game’s developers are based in India. It releases later today as a timed console exclusive on the Switch.

Bear and Breakfast

Play as an innkeeper running a bed and breakfast. Players customize rooms and try to attract customers. Did I mention that you play as a bear? Bear and Breakfast is a timed console exclusive coming to Switch in 2021.

A Short Hike

Coming out later today, A Short Hike is a timed console exclusive on Switch. It’s an exploration game about hiking up a mountain with a pretty cool graphics style. The game is also available on PC.

Card Shark

Card Shark comes from the creators of the indie hit Reigns. It’s a game about cheating at cards. The Switch version is coming out in 2021. There’s also a PC version in the works.

Torchlight III

The Diablo-like action RPG dungeon crawler Torchlight II is coming to Switch this fall. The game is currently also available in Steam Early Access.

Manifold Garden

Manifold Garden is described as a “mind-bending” puzzle game where players have to change their perspective to solve the puzzle. It’s available later today on Switch.

Evergate

Evergate is a 2D puzzle platformer where players traverse the afterlife. It’s out later today on Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

That’s not all! Nintendo also briefly showed off several other indie games that are worth mentioning. Here are the games and their expected release date or their release window.

HONK!

Oh, right. There’s one last thing… Nintendo confirmed that a free two-player update is coming to Untitled Goose Game. So now you’ll be able to cause twice as much mayhem in one of last year’s unexpected hits.
