Gamescom 2023 has not even started yet, and companies are already making new announcements or releasing new tools. Nvidia, a graphics card manufacturer, has announced a partnership with the modder community, providing them access to a new version of the well-known RTX Remix tool.

These modders will now be able to create game “remasters” on the spot, like bringing Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project to life. This is a new version of the game made with RTX Remix and Valve’s Hammer editor. Modders are using these tools to remake many of the game’s textures and materials.

They are also adding new features, like higher detail loading, real-time ray tracing, and tools like Reflex or DLSS 3. It’s possible that DLSS 3.5 may be used, which is an upgraded version of Nvidia’s technology for AI-based texture smoothing and rescaling.

It’s essential to note that there’s currently no release date for this specific remaster. So, we must wait patiently. Nevertheless, based on Nvidia’s video, we can tell that the remastering appears to be excellent technically and graphically.
