Microsoft still has cards up its sleeve to get the Activision-Blizzard buyout
The Activision-Blizzard buyout remains in constant discussions. Neither HBO Max or Netflix have managed to create a series with so many twists and turns in their arcs. But this latest information delivered by Microsoft to the FTC has brought the video game industry to a halt.
According to Xbox in a document provided for the FTC trial, Sony plans to release a smaller PS5. We would be talking about a “slim” console with the same price as the current digital edition of PS5.

Gentlemen, the FTC trial for the purchase of Activision-Blizzard looks like a Christopher Nolan movie. The number of twists and turns it has had in the last few months is impressive. And, it looks like it is finally in its final stretch.
However, in recent weeks both Sony and Xbox have put their cards on the table. Still, Xbox has a few cards up its sleeve and has presented a document that has leaked some very important PlayStation information: A supposed “slim” PlayStation 5.
It seems that Sony plans to launch a smaller version of the PS5 by the end of 2023. This was shared in the 45th page from the official document presented to the FTC. Following the same ideology of the Xbox Series S, this new “slim” PS5 would feature a smaller digital format but with the same price as the current digital edition.
Usually these leaks come from insiders or internet rumors, but an official document from Xbox? Undoubtedly, this battle for the purchase of Activision-Blizzard is getting more and more interesting.
