Pokemon might seem like its been around forever, and some people thought it would die a quick death, but now in 2005, Nintendo has proven skeptics wrong. Pokemon Emerald, the latest in the franchise that just launched on the last day of April, has sold nearly a million units in America alone.
Pokemon Emerald, which is basically a revision of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire (check out our review here), has has sold approximately 882,000 units, according to May NPD sales. With the help of Pokemon Emerald, year-over-year sales for May 2005 from May 2004 have increased by 30%.
