Insomniac Games has provided an update on the accessibility features included in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

“Insomniac Games is dedicated to creating games that have a positive and lasting influence on people’s lives,” writes Michele Zorrilla, Insomniac’s Advanced Senior User Experience Researcher.

“This includes developing games that are playable and inclusive for people from a wide range of backgrounds. There’s a large number of gamers with disabilities who have needs that tend to fall into one of 4 accessibility categories: Vision, Auditory, Motor/Dexterity, and Cognitive,” Zorrilla adds.

Some of the accessibility features include high-contrast options and shaders to make the player, allies, and enemies stand out. Another new feature is the ability to control the game speed. You can assign speeds of 30, 50, 70, or 100 percent to a shortcut button. This helps slow down action for players who may feel overwhelmed during combat.

You can learn more about the game’s accessibility features on the official SIE blog. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches June 11 exclusively on PS5.
