Sonic Frontiers clocks in at under 25 gigs on both PS4 and PS5.
The latest Sonic game is surprisingly compact for what is an open-world game. The Sonic Frontiers file size and pre-load date were recently revealed.
Here are the file sizes on PlayStation consoles:
- PS4 : 23.090 GB (Version: 1.01)
- PS5 : 24.719 GB (Version: 1.001.000)
Of course, you can expect the file size to increase as it receives regular updates. Still, it’s good to know that the game will not eat up your hard drive or solid-state drive at launch.
Preload, review embargo, and release date
Sega first teased Sonic Frontiers gameplay back in May. In addition to the Sonic Frontiers file size, now we are starting to get more critical details such as when you can pre-load and expect the first reviews to drop on gaming websites.
Fans can pre-load the game starting on November 6, 2022. We also learned that the review embargo lifts on November 7. That’s just one day before the expected November 8 release date. Although not always the case, this is sometimes a hint that the publisher expects to get hit with mixed or negative reviews.
