The Spanish-language Twitter account for ESO confirmed the milestone.
Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online has exceeded 21 million players. It’s not clear if that number represents active players (which seems unlikely) or total players to date. We’re guessing it’s the latter.
The Elder Scrolls Online launched in 2014 on PC as a subscription-based MMORPG. After a rough start, the game adopted a buy-to-play model. A console version was released on PS4 and Xbox One in 2015 along with a re-branding as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.
In addition, the game is also optimized for Xbox Series X and S and backward compatible on PlayStation 5. Bethesda has released a ton of content including the recent Deadlands DLC and High Isle expansion.
