The Cyberpunk 2077 universe anime known as EdgeRunners is set to debut on Netflix in less than two months.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been a bit… disappointing. From launch to date, we’ve seen relatively little progress from a development standpoint (beyond the obvious bug fixes). Despite this, it’s an incredible story with a very interesting universe to develop further.
CD Projekt RED today revealed a new trailer for Cyberpunk EdgeRunners. It’s a Netflix-exclusive series based on the engaging Cyberpunk 2077 universe that we had known very little about it.
An action-packed anime in a Cyberpunk universe
CD Projekt RED and Netflix have a very good relationship. Previously, both companies worked hand in hand to bring The Witcher series to television viewers. But, instead of a real-life Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation, they have opted for an anime created by Studio Trigger.

Cyberpunk: EdgeRunners promises a fast-paced action-packed anime. Studio Trigger presents a story with many elements of Akira but has nothing to envy the classic anime. The characters Lucy and David will try to survive the harsh Night City. This city where we met Cyberpunk 2077 presents a challenge for even the most prepared person.
Cyberpunk: EdgeRunners‘ production team includes Akira Yamaoka (composer of Silent Hill) and Hiroyuki Imaishi (filmmaker in charge of Kill la Kill). This new series will consist of 10 episodes where the presence of the EdgeRunners will bring a lot of action.
The series certainly looks promising. In a little over a month, we will be able to see this incredible story. Cyberpunk: EdgeRunners is getting released exclusively on Netflix in September. In the meantime, we can all enjoy this incredible trailer that we have recently been given.
