Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is leaving Steam Early Access next month

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is leaving Early Access and getting a full release on Steam on May 28.

The co-op tower defense action role-playing game has been in Steam Early Access. Now that it is getting a full release, the developers have announced a host of new content, including new difficulty settings.

According to Chromatic Games, version 1.0 includes a “massive assortment” of new content. For instance, they are introducing Ancient Dragon and Goblin Mech bosses, Mixed and Pure Strategy modes, and the Massacre Difficulty. In addition, they’re adding new pets and more challenge maps.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened was built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4. This is the franchise’s third entry. Awakened includes an original story, updated visuals, revised mechanics, additional locations, and fresh loot for players to collect.

Awakened launches on Steam for $39.99. The Nintendo Switch version will be available in Q3 2020. There are also PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions coming in Q4 2020. Free DLC maps, equipment, pets, and a fifth playable hero are planned.
