Final Fantasy VII Remake is a one-year PS4 exclusive

Final Fantasy VII Remake

We knew that Final Fantasy VII Remake was going to be a timed-exclusive on PS4, but we didn’t know for how long. Now we do.

Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on March 3, 2020. And according to just-released box art, the game will remain a PS4 exclusive for exactly one year. If you’re a longtime fan and don’t own a PS4, a year is a long wait, but at least you now have a timeframe.

Square Enix hasn’t actually confirmed versions for PC, Xbox One, or next-gen systems like Xbox Project Scarlett, but it’s hard to imagine that it will not land on other platforms once exclusivity is up. For that matter, I expect that a complete edition will get released on PS5.

The company has been making a lot of FFVII news lately. Just before Thanksgiving, they released a bunch of new FFVII Remake screenshots. And just earlier today, Square Enix and Sony Music revealed the game’s limited edition vinyl soundtrack.
