Additional details about Pokémon Sword & Shield were revealed this week, perhaps none more exciting than a brand-new Pokémon.
Finally, after two decades of mediocrity, the duck Pokémon Farfetch’d – which originally appeared in Generation 1 on Pokémon Red & Blue – will see an evolution.
Specifically, Farfetch’d will now evolve into the Wild Duck Pokémon, Sirfetch’d. It’s now a Fighting Type rather than just a Normal/Flying Type, and its Ability is Steadfast. In addition to the leek that Farfetch’d carried as a weapon, Sirfetch’d carries a large, leafy shield.
Sirfetch’d will be an exclusive monster, found only in Pokémon Sword. Pokémon Shield players will need to trade for one. Pokémon Sword & Shield will be available on Nintendo Switch this November.
