Never Alone joins Smithsonian Futures Exhibition

Never Alone

Not only that, Never Alone is free on the Epic Games Store for a limited time.

E-Line Media and the Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC) announced today that the indie game Never Alone is featured in the Smithsonian Institution’s upcoming Futures Exhibition. Those who are unable to attend can try the full game since it is accessible for free on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, November 25.

The Futures exhibit, a powerhouse of modern history

The Futures exhibit is the Smithsonian’s first examination of the future. The exhibit is over 32,000 square feet on the National Mall. It focuses on the Institution’s vision of the next chapter of mankind through artwork, technology, gaming, and other means. To commemorate its 175th anniversary, the Smithsonian Institution unveiled the Futures exhibition this year. The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s greatest cultural, educational, and research complex with 19 museums and the National Zoo.

A video game masterpiece

Never Alone immerses players in an atmospheric puzzle platformer in the role of a young Iñupiat girl and an Arctic fox, blending traditional stories, places, and characters passed down through generations by the Iñupiat people, whose roots and legacy date back millennia. The game crew is made up of Iñupiat elders, artists, storytellers, and other community members, as well as gaming industry professionals who have worked on a variety of successful titles.

Never Alone epitomizes several of the Smithsonian’s major pillars and fits perfectly inside the Futures exhibit, celebrating the past and present of Alaska Native people via the use of ever-advancing technology in the gaming sector.

Never Alone is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, iOS, and PC. We remind you that the game is free for a limited time on the Epic Games Store.
