Sony’s Jim Ryan made it clear that they are working on an exclusive catalog for their PS5 console.
Sony discussed the company’s future and its next-generation console during the CES 2022 presentation. Apart from the significant announcement of the new PlayStation VR2 and Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Jim Ryan stated that the PlayStation 5’s future is secure. The company has 17 studios working on first-party titles.
The future PS5 catalog is assured
We learned about this statement due to Geoff Keighley, a journalist and organizer of The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest, who posted it on Twitter along with other critical facts from the PlayStation boss.
Ryan made mention of this great news, while in the background we can see the seventeen studios that are working for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2 games, among which we can find big studios like:
- Bluepoint Games
- Naughty Dog
- San Diego Studio
- Santa Monica Studio
- Guerrilla Games
- Polyphony Digital
- Valkyria Entertainment
It should be noted that not all studios working on projects for Sony are owned by the company. Fifteen of them are owned by the Japanese company, and two are independent studios that are in support.
The next few years look good for the PlayStation 5, although there is a lack of exclusive titles today for the PlayStation console, which has had a rocky start of the generation due to the lack of stock and exclusive games for the console.
