Sackboy: A Big Adventure now has online multiplayer

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Sumo Digital has added online multiplayer in the latest Sackboy: A Big Adventure update.

The patch lets you play co-op with up to three friends. So if you’ve already beaten the game, you now have a good incentive to go back and play it again with your pals.

“Our goal from day one of this project was to give players an excellent single-player platforming experience. But we wanted that experience to be even better when you shared it with your mates,” Ned Waterhouse of Sumo Digital writes.

Teamwork Levels

There’s also new content with the addition of ten multiplayer-exclusive stages. Known as Teamwork Levels, each of the game’s five worlds has two of these multiplayer-centric levels where cooperation is key.

“You and your team will need to collaborate, coordinate, and communicate to reach your goal,” Waterhouse adds. “And you should expect that at some point it will go completely pear-shaped, often with hilarious consequences.

Crossplay and PS4 save transfers

There’s more good news. The game supports crossplay between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. So even if your friends are playing on different platforms, you can all still play together.

This update also includes the option to transfer your PS4 save file to PS5. You can do this when you load the game, select Extra in the pause menu, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
