In a terse tweet, Insomniac Games confirmed today that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone game for PS5.
Revealed during yesterday’s PS5 Future of Gaming livestream, there were rumors flying online that it was merely an expansion for Marvel’s Spider-Man. But Insomniac put those rumors to rest rather quickly.
“Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe,” the company tweeted.

In addition to the tweet above, Insomniac also responded to fan responses. When asked if the game was a remaster or an expansion, they write: “It is a standalone game.” So there you have it!
Miles Morales is one of two games Insomniac Games is making for PS5. The other, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, was also confirmed during yesterday’s event in which the PS5 console was shown off for the first time.
