Some short clips and video footage have surfaced this afternoon, leaking some new characters, a new stage, and other goodies coming soon to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
For the sake of spoilers, we will mention all the details after the break.
Any article based on Wii U titles, or Wii U-based eShop games.
Far and away the best looking Wii U game that I have seen to date is the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X. The open world action RPG is a console exclusive coming out this December. Nintendo has released a new trailer for the game at their E3 Nintendo Direct event, which you can watch below:
The headliner for Nintendo’s Wii U platform this year is a new Star Fox game that blends the staple flight combat with ground combat, similar to the GameCube’s Star Fox: Assault. The game’s controls make use of the Wii U GamePad’s gyroscopes. We have to say, though, that it is quite visually underwhelming, especially compared … Read more

Nintendo’s future strategy for its “Amiibo” product line seems to be getting clearer by the day: the interactive and highly-collectible figurines are here to stay, and more Amiibos are on the way in 2015. After enjoying the astounding success of the first waves of Amiibo figures in late 2014, Nintendo seems quite dedicated to the idea, and with good … Read more
The developer of Gunman Clive 2 revealed via Twitter that the retro platformer will be available to download on January 29 via Nintendo eShop. Just like its predecessor, Gunman Clive 2 costs very little: $2.99. The game will be available for both Nintendo 3DS & Wii U through the eShop. The side-scrolling gameplay remains decidedly old-school, although Gunman Clive 2 looks … Read more

Frankly, to re-cap yesterday’s Nintendo Direct is difficult, because so much was revealed: it almost felt like an E3 presser bundled into a brief presentation. By now you may have heard that the New Nintendo 3DS XL is finally coming to North America, or caught that release dates were confirmed for titles such as Majora’s Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS, Splatoon, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and more. Maybe you even spotted the upcoming “Wave 4” Amiibos, or the new Super Mario Edition lineup.
Just in case you missed anything, I will quickly tackle and summarize it all; I’d like to give a special thanks to Vlad N. for his contribution to this re-cap:

To reflect on the past year in video games, 2014 has been…to put it lightly, kind of a disappointment. As the first full year for the “new-gen” PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, I feel like both Sony and Microsoft could have come out a bit stronger. Nintendo’s hardware sales are still nothing to brag about … Read more
Update: There is no official statement from Nintendo regarding the GamePad or any redesign; we apologize for any potential misleading and admit that this “rumor” was a bit of a long stretch. Until the publisher comes out with some kind of official statement, we are calling this one “dead.” You can still see the original article … Read more

The sales of Nintendo’s Amiibo figures are surprising, to say the least – according to Nintendo of America, there is roughly a 1:1 ratio and “attach rate” of Amiibo toys to copies of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. To be more specific, that’s over 710,000 figures – and copies of Super Smash Bros. There are 12 … Read more
